Vanessa is a writer, autism advocate, and a loving mother of four amazing children. Residing in Westminster with her supportive husband and family, Vanessa has overcome numerous challenges in her life, including a connective tissue disorder that causes chronic pain. Through her personal journey, she has discovered the transformative power of yoga, which has not only helped her manage her pain but has also improved her symptoms related to the disorder.

Vanessa’s dedication to yoga goes beyond her own healing. She bravely shares her story of addiction and recovery, aiming to inspire and support others who may be facing similar struggles. Her journey has shown her just how vital yoga can be in the healing and recovery process, and she passionately incorporates this love for the practice into her classes.

Karen is a dedicated First Grade Teacher, a loving dog-mom, and an inspired Pilates instructor. In her spare time, Karen can be found doing almost anything outside! She enjoys hiking, ATVing, going for walks with her dog, snowmobiling, water skiing, and more. She loves to spend time with her family and friends, take yoga and Pilates classes, and relax by the lake.

Karen found Pilates in 2013 when she tried a class in hopes of a fun, challenging change from the typical gym setting. From that very first class, Karen fell in love and has continued her Pilates practice ever since. She became certified to teach both Beginner and Intermediate Pilates classes through Power Pilates Core Mat I & II training programs. Karen is excited to bring her Pilates experience to Zen Yoga & Wellness to share the wonderful benefits of Pilates with all who join her classes.
