Vanessa F

Vanessa is a writer, autism advocate, and mom of 4 with a unique and powerful story of addiction and recovery.

She recovers out loud in hopes to help others that may find themselves in the grips of the scary and lonely world of addiction as well.

She is fueled by her faith, family and fitness; all which help carry her through her sobriety. Yoga has been an essential part of her recovery, which lead her to her becoming an instructor herself. She is certified through My Vinyasa Practice in Austin, TX with a 200 hour YTT and a Yoga for Anxiety certification. She is in the process of obtaining her certification in Yoga Nidra and plans to obtain her Barre certification in the near future as well.

During her free time, Vanessa loves traveling up to VT with her family; hiking with her golden, Gracie; running; and of course working on her yoga practice. 

Karen S

Karen is a dedicated First Grade Teacher, a loving dog-mom, and an inspired Pilates instructor. In her spare time, Karen can be found doing almost anything outside! She enjoys hiking, ATVing, going for walks with her dog, snowmobiling, water skiing, and more. She loves to spend time with her family and friends, take yoga and Pilates classes, and relax by the lake.

Karen found Pilates in 2013 when she tried a class in hopes of a fun, challenging change from the typical gym setting. From that very first class, Karen fell in love and has continued her Pilates practice ever since. She became certified to teach both Beginner and Intermediate Pilates classes through Power Pilates Core Mat I & II training programs. Karen is excited to bring her Pilates experience to Zen Yoga & Wellness to share the wonderful benefits of Pilates with all who join her classes.

Caroline D

A certified fitness professional since 1993, Caroline has merged her passion for fitness and wellness with her business background to deliver top notch training and services to both industry professionals and clients. She has collaborated with some of the top fitness professionals in creating new programs and services out of New York City and consults fitness industry leaders under the business name cadawson.com. She currently holds NASM, ACE, and AFAA certifications, is a Yoga Alliance RYT, and holds Bachelor and Master’s Degrees in Business Administration.

Caroline is a Master Instructor for the Spinning® program, certifying instructors in Spinning® in the US and internationally since 2005. She has been featured in Spinning® segments on WB11 Morning News, FOX’s Good Day New York, and NY1, and contributed to articles in Self, Fitness, Best Body, Quick & Simple, For You, Fit Yoga, Healthy Aging, and In Touch magazines. She has been a regular on the fitness conference circuit, presenting for Spinning® at WSSC, ECA, ECA Miami, Boston Balance, Can Fit Pro, and the TSI Summit. She has created curriculum for ACE and AFAA approved continuing education workshops, and presented for Instructor Toolbox and BodyWedge21™ throughout the US.

Through her corporate fitness experience, Caroline has taught tens of thousands of fitness classes and led hundreds of staff trainings for group exercise instructors and personal trainers on branded programs. She has managed and trained over 65 in-house presenters in a variety of programming, including strength training, yoga, boxing, Pilates, functional training, and kids programs.

These days, Caroline resides in central Massachusetts and has a never-ending passion for teaching fitness classes and developing lasting fitness relationships. She is currently the Special Projects Coordinator for Nectar Yoga Studios in Virginia, featuring top-notch talent and in-studio experiences minutes away from the Nation’s capital. In her spare time, Caroline loves practicing ahimsa through pit bull rescue and spending time with her boyfriend and six pitties.
